Roundup: 2-in-1 Dual-Boot Tablets, Asus Slimmest Laptop, Windows Uncommon Services, Touch-Screen Gaming Console, and More

For the past few days of writing, a handful of convertible and 2-in-1 (two-in-one) tablets with dual-boot support captured my attention. These machines are equipped with Intel Atom Cherry Trail (quad-core) line of processors loaded with Microsoft Windows 10 Home Edition and Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating systems. This ultra-portable machines are the new line of Chinese products which are about to appear in our local stores.

I would like to start with my first entry, that is no other than Teclast TBook 10. A 10.1-inch tablet with the above mentioned CPU paired with 4GB DDR3 memory and 64GB of flash storage. That is followed by Cube iWork 10 Flagship with the same processing chip to TBook 10 their smaller brother, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2. However, Mi Pad 2 is equipped with only 2GB of RAM.

Next to those 2-in-1 tablets with dual-boot capabilities, I used to compare Teclast X98 Pro with Teclast Mi Pad 2 (as an iPad Mini clone). Both shares a handful of common specs just like of 64GB of flash storage and 4GB of RAM. The X98 Pro is bigger than Mi Pad 2 but both are treated with the same line of Cherry Trail processors.

Aside from the above mentioned China-made tablet computers, Chuwi Hi10 is another dual-OS machine added to the line of Cherry Trail supported line of handheld devices. But this model is equipped with a slower version of the said quad-core processor.

And here comes the 7-inch low-cost machine, the iRulu eXpro X1 tablet with older Android platform. It is my one and only entry powered by Allwinner A33 quad-core processor. And it is followed by a powerless virtual reality (VR) headset, the Virtoba X5 for iMAX-like experience.

For Android smartphones, I also heard of Vernee Apollo Lite promo. The company is giving a $30 discount coupon in Facebook for the said 5.5-inch handset.

The ongoing Computex 2016 has been surprised by Asus ZenBook 3, the notable thin and slimmest machine to bump with MacBook Air. And it is lighter that Apple's blockbuster machine equipped with Intel Core i-series of processors, 4GB to 8GB of RAM, 16GB up to 1TB of solid-state drive (SSD) storage.

And next to Asus ZenBook 3, a story about the new line of Microsoft Surface Pro started to appear in Chinese website. Someone revealed a picture or photo of the alleged model but nobody confirmed this story from the company.

Due to my curiosity and slowing computer, I recently turn my attention to turn off some of my machine's background services. I ended sharing four of unknown or uncommon services appearing in every Windows Task Manager list of running services. First, here comes the AeLookupSvc, a powerful agent responsible for detecting compatibility issues of old software and hardware. Next, is the IKEEXT for keeping up our computer's network connectivity followed by LanmanWorkstation and LanmanServer. Lastly, is no other than ShellHWDetection which is responsible for AutoPlay services of Windows operating system.

Due to significant contribution of social networking sites in the face of global communication technology, I used to compare Imo and Facebook in terms of chat, audio and video calling, and group messaging features.

Going back to 2-in-1 tablets, a new and different model 9.7-inch Teclast X98 Pro also catch my attention. But before that, I used to compare this model with Mi Pad 2.

For video games, think of a unique and one-of-its-kind GPD Win. A touch-screen gaming console with Microsoft Windows 10 Home Edition. It is another 2-in-1 device that work as a gaming joystick and as a pocket PC at the same time.

Aside from Apollo Lite handset, Elephone P8000 is also added to my recent entry for Android phones. It is equipped with MediaTek's MTK6763 octa-core CPU and paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of flash storage.

And for my recent entry, as I take a look around in Computex 2016 in Taipei, AMD introduces a new line of powerful GPUs, the Radeon RX480. It is expected to hit the gaming rigs of massive PC players few months from now. That is followed by Sony Xperia X-series which are about to appear in Hong Kong and Weeview Eye-Plug phone camera (for capturing 3D videos) that support a Type-C USB port of any Android smartphone.

From here, join me for another wave of stories related to gadgets and ultra-portable devices as I continue my quest to share the most up-to-date technology-related articles on the line.
