Roundup: Zotac ZBOX Sphere, Microsoft Surface Pro 3, LG LifeBand Touch, and Acer Iconia A1-830

For the past few weeks, I missed to catch the most anticipated reports related to those gadgets which started to showed out as early of January 2014. However, this might be the right time for me to start a new round to cover the upcoming tablets, smartphones, and other handheld devices which are expected to hit the market before the end of this year.

To start with my weekly roundup, a spherical-shaped machine coming from Zotac surprised me with its underlying specs despite of a compacted case. Aside from being smaller, monitor-less, and unique design, Zotac ZBOX Sphere OI520 is equipped with a quad-core Intel Core i5-4200U CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 2.5-inch hard-disk drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SDD) storage.

ZBOX Sphere OI520 is a descendant of the previously reported model with Intel Core i3 CPU. And both of the said versions embraced the power of Intel's fourth generation of processors.

Furthermore, Microsoft introduced the next generation of 12-inch Surface Pro. It is now available for pre-order along with its Type Cover specialized keyboard and protective case at the same time. Aside from that, Microsoft is also planning to release the other available accessories for Surface Pro 3. That includes a 36W power supply and Ethernet Adapter.

On the other side, LG brought out their very own wearable, the LifeBand Touch Activity Tracker. It is now available in Best Buy for about $150.00 only. Compared to Samsung Gear 2 Neo, it is much cheaper of about $50.00. However, both of the said competing wearable devices shares a common features coming from the same Bluetooth 4.0 technology and alike.

And aside from Zotac ZBOX Sphere, new generation of Surface Pro tablet, and LG wearable device, Acer also revealed their very own 11.6-inch TravelMate B115P fan-less laptop. It is equipped with 126GB of solid-state drive (SSD) storage and quad-core Intel Pentium processor. According to Acer's report, it has a promising battery performance which can last for up to 10-hour in a single charge.

Acer also revealed a handful of ultra-portable machines ranging from an 8-inch Iconia W4 tablet which showed out in Hong Kong to their very own C720 Chromebook. And that includes the latest Acer Iconia A1-830 which is debuted in Consumers Electronic Show (CES) way back in January.
