Archos Introduces a Three Different Variants of Neon Tablets

Smartphones and tablets are known as diversified gadgets. The number of these portable machines continue to grow in number as manufacturers compete to answer the increasing demand of consumers in all over the world. And we cannot instantly categorize the forms and sizes without looking backward to the dominant models in stores, right?

On the other side, Archos recently added a new tastes for their tablets. The Neon 90, 97, and 101 models which are all treated with a quad-core technology. The name of these three different machines are excerpted from the sizes of respective screen.

Archos New Line of Neon Tablets

Archos 90 Neon
  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon Cortex-A9 at 1.4GHz
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Storage: 8GB (MicroSD is also available for additional storage space)
  • Display: 9-inch, 800 x 480-pixel resolution
  • GPU: Mali 400 MP4
  • Camera: Front-facing only (no words for exact spec)
Archos 97 Neon
  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon Cortex-A9 at 1.6GHz
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Storage: 8GB
  • Display: 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768-pixel resolution
  • Camera: 2-megapixel (main), 0.3-megapixel (front)
Archos 101 Neon
  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon Cortex-A9 at 1.4GHz
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Storage: 8GB
  • Display: 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600-pixel
  • Camera: Front-facing only
Both of these three Neon tablets are powered by a quad-core technology, Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) platform and 8GB of built-in storage which are also paired with MicroSD for expandable space. The Neon 101 has a lower screen resolution compared to the 9.7-inch model but both are equipped with only one camera.

The clock speed of 9-inch variant is similar to 10.1-inch with the same Cortex-A9 chip. And the only model treated with front and rear facing camera comes to Archos 97 Neon.

And before I can forget, Archos is prominent in producing handheld machines in France which also compete to Chinese and American manufacturers. But until now, just like of other brands, I haven't heard that the company attempted to produce a tablet with Windows operating system.

Update: The company officially announced and revealed the different prices of the above mentioned tablets along with a handful of smartphones.
