Asus Upcoming M80TA 8-Inch Tablet with Intel Atom Z3740-ES

Some people are currently talking about the upcoming new line of portable machines from Asus. A Microsoft Windows 8.1 powered tablet with Intel Atom Z3740-ES (Bay Trail) processor. However, nobody knows the exact name of that device, but because of cargo labels, puzzled serial numbers and related details, it is clear that the company is planning to sell a new variant of 8-inch tablet.

According to Adam Kovacs of Tech 2, this machine is no other than Asus M80TA. An Intel Atom Z3740-ES powered tablet with a closer look to Transformer Book model.

For specs and some convincing underlying components of Asus M80TA, see the following list below:
  • CPU: Intel Atom Z3740-ES at 1.86GHz (with 2MB of cache)
  • RAM: 2GB DDR3
  • Graphics: Unknown for this moment
  • Storage: 32GB to 64GB SSD
  • Display: 1280 x 800-pixel
  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, USB 2.0 or 3.0, and standard audio input/output
  • Other: Responsive touchscreen panel
In my own guess, M80TA will probably hit the market in less than $400.00 in United States. A budget-friend machine to join Lenovo, Dell, and Acer tablets in stores. Prices will vary according to buyer's geographical location.

And I am currently waiting for other supporting documents or official press release from Asus to know more about their upcoming products by 2014. It is also possible for this machine to appear in Consumers Electronic Show (CES) few weeks from now.
