Prices of Barnes & Noble Nook Color is Dropping!

This month of November, expect a big markdown in prices of Barnes & Noble Nook Color and Tablet. Starting today, it is now available for only $139.00 and $159.00 as noted on their official product page. However, the HD version is coming this fall for about $200.00 per piece. This might be the reason why they are dropping the prices of their two 7-inch slates, right?

Nook Color and Tablet are both 7-inch wide with 1024 x 600-pixel resolution. Packed with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) customized OS. Availability of this machines started few years ago and we can already find some second-hand models in Amazon as well in eBay.

The Nook Color is powered by TI Omap 3 CPU running at 800MHz with 8GB storage capacity. Compared to what we can get in the market nowadays, this processing power fall shortly from any single-core handheld machines. We cannot find the right words to describe its entire performance but before, reviews of this slate shows a good choice for e-book lovers.

Furthermore, Nook Tablet reached the market in the last quarter of 2011 following its predecessor. It has a similar size with Color but it is powered by TI Omap 4 1GHz dual-core processor. And it became available in either 8GB or 16GB models.

The upcoming Nook HD and HD Plus is now on its way to join the competition of iPad Mini, Nexus 7, and Samsung Galaxy tablets. And the price of HD+ is much higher compared to the other model. That will come for about $270.00 and availability will start by November 8, 2012. Expect a cheaper tablets from Barnes & Noble few days from now as holiday sales kickoff few more days from now.
